My partner has been having lessons with Bill Plant for over a year. He was due to have his test at the end of January 2024, but 3 days before was informed by his instructor (after he did not reply to texts for over a week) that he had been sacked by the company due to having a mental breakdown after the sudden loss of his Brother, resulting in my partner being unable to reschedule his test as the deadline had just passed.
Bill Plant was also unable to find him another instructor which he had to chase for himself and was not informed at any point by the instructor or company of this to prevent this until it was too late. After numerous phone calls and emails to the customer service (with hour long waits and promised call backs that never happened, excuse was they have too many complaints to deal with) he has now been told they refuse to refund him the cost of his test even though he missed it due to no fault of his own only theirs and after spending hundreds of pounds learning in a car he will not drive again. My partner has also now been left with no driving instructor and months wait before he can redo his test. Disgusting customer service, clearly treat their customers just as bad as their instructors and just want your money.
A decent company would just refund what was owed, accept fault and profusely apologise for the inconvenience caused but none of this has been received. Driving school of the year - voted by who?!

In my experience with the driving
instructor, there were several issues that
left me dissatisfied. Firstly, there was an
unexplained gap of 8 weeks without any
lessons, and I only received an
explanation when I approached him.
Despite my consistent availability for 6
out of those 8 weeks due to
unemployment, he attributed the lack of
lessons to my schedule.
This
contradicted his initial promise to ensure
consistent lessons. Additionally, the
instructor was aware of the urgency for
me to pass my test quickly but could not
provide regular lessons. Eventually, I had
to request a full refund, which took
almost a week to process.
Overall, the
lack of transparency, unfulfilled
promises, and inconvenience led to a
negative experience with this instructor.
Absolutely wasted my money and time.
Clearly has a habit of taking on more
than he is able to handle, said he had 35
students. I feel like I have been
scammed.

Terrible Service
Where can can I start. My 2 sons were taking lessons with Bill Plant driving school, We didn't realise it was a franchise but it is.
The guy who started to teach my lads let us down constantly. Ringing 30mins before lessons to re arrange and then letting us down completely and not making it at all, The worst incident was when we booked our youngest sons test and agreed the time with the instructor, only to be told by him just before the driving exam that he had decided to go on holiday so we couldn't use the car for the exam!
Another occasion he was on the way to pick my lad up for a lesson and then text him to say he was sick. Then a few days later it transpired he had gone to watch the match. Finally we re booked the exam and also booked a second test for my other son.
The instructor then informed us that something had gone on with his licence has been suspended and he was not able or willing to do any more lessons !
We contacted Bill Plant directly and asked if they could sort out a car for my lads tests as they were used to the cars Bill Plant teach in. They told us there was nothing they could do.
This was after paid them a good couple of thousand pound in lesson fees.
Absolutely disgraceful company with no regard for pupils whatsoever. All they are after is the money off you

It doesnt even deserve a star. Purchased 20 lessons in June for daughters birthday.
Promised 1 a week. She's had 7 in 7 months. Excuse after excuse for cancelling. Just didn't turn up twice, common curtesy to message/call.
Went AWOL for approx 7 weeks. Despite text messages and calls/voicemails. Bill Plant customers services were extremely poor. Refused to take any responsibility.
Told us to go through small claims court or police.
Told us our complaint was urgent on the 28th of December, had to contact again yesterday to still be offered no help. I'm sure there are good instructors in bill plant but unfortunately the bad ones and customers services let them down..

So hear me out, Ive paid these guys to support me through out me journey in becoming a driving instructor, they were so happy in signing another client because money is coming in right !
On my part 1 exam Ive asked few questions for these guys and they were not able to answer but kept on insisting to revise which I had been doing, been told that if I dont inform the team of the outcome on Part 1 my course will expire so every time I failed Ive informed the team, passed me exam and again informed the team.
I then moved over to me part 2 and this is where it started going all bad, been told not to book my part 2 before taking 10 hour lessons, bare in mind getting a test date can take few months which happened in my case. They then assigned me to someone called Jay and never informed me that within the 10 hours of the course there will be another client in the car.
I mean Ive paid you guys to be transparent with everything !
However coming back to the point, Jay had me behind the wheels for 2-3 hours max on the first day and on the second day I had a job interview to attend so asked him if I can drive the car first which he and the other clients agreed for and I do appreciate it. On the other hand one hour into the course the tyre pressure light came up and noticed that the steering wheel was pulling to the left and Ive informed him straight away. He then made me drive to a tyre shop in Edgware which is based next to a Shisha place called the Shisha Gardens.
Ive notified the team of the inconvenience that the trainee caused which they assumed that I was lying and it will be investigated, after a day or 2 Ive spoken with Johny the guy who signed me up and took me money for the course. He then said leave it with me and will sort it out.
Got back to me with a solution of 2 hours of additional lesson will be provided due to the inconvenience caused at the time. Ive notified them that Im only off on a Thursday and available in the evening through out the whole week which he said thats fine.
Had another trainee called and said I will not be able to do Thursday or evening and will let the office know. Bear in mind my exams on the 1st of September and this situation was reported to them couple of weeks before the test date. I then got left all alone and received an email the day before me exam saying that they have exhausted all the possible trainers and no one was available.
Took me exam and failed, the examiner said mate you can drive but clearly you havent been trained at all which was absolutely true.
I then sent the exam report to bill plant, wrote more emails about it and had no response !
Today Ive spoken with someone called Elizabeth in customer service that turned out to be CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER. Ive expressed me situation to her and in the end she said she cant help me with anything and that I needed to get in tough with the training team where Ive not been able to get a response of and why would I call customer service if I can get in hold of the training team ?
My question is Bill do you only take your customers money and leave them all alone through out their jurney, the stress that this has caused me its unreal !
If you had employed Elizabeth as a customer service Manager what are her duties mate ?
All I have asked for is to get the services that Ive been promised for and clearly you have failed to do so !
Caused me stress l, taken my months of time and not even gonna mention the costs I had to become a driving instructor.
Refund me money and I will never ever recommend anyone to bill plant !

Martian Hallam-Benn Firstly very unprofessional, when having lessons with the instructor he doesn't really communicate, talks very very little and when he does something, you end up having a near miss. Communication is key and if theirs no communication between the instructor and student.
Someone is going to get seriously hurt.
Furthermore would like to mention how much of a mess around I had with getting lessons, constantly getting let down. Then out the random. Afew days later I'm getting accused by the instructor of offending him. So I politely challenged him about how I did but he did not answer.
Not only that why didn't he challenge me in the lesson or at the end of the lesson or at least message me after the lesson but no. Waits half way through the week to mess about.
I've requested for all onboard footage on the vehicle and anything to argue my case. I've made a complaint to bill plant directly and got DVSA involved as well.

Instructor Mostafa blatantly ignored me, and so has the company. The instructor did not state whether or not there'd be any lessons that week or even replied back and from what I've been told, has already made excuses about the time I texted him (respond the next day or something?).
I've had 18 hours with him thus far.
What Mostafa could (and should) have done is texted me making very clear his intentions to cancel any future lessons with me so that I could move forward with a new instructor/company, but instead wasted my time when I have a test on April
I contacted the company through their info email on 26/01/22 and through their web contact us form on 27/01/22, and I have been blatantly ignored. All I asked for were three things:
A response;
A new instructor;
and 100% acknowledgment instructor Mostafa was in the wrong (I offered evidence of the text exchange).

I have really bad experience with my Instructor Emma Slopper from bill plant. I had nearly 23 hours lessons.
At the very beginning I already told my Instructor that I don't worry about that how many hours I need to pass but I rather want to be perfect and safe on the road. I urge her so many time to take me on the quite state where I can practice more on clutch control and gear handling. But she didn't listen me at all and keep taking me on busy roads. And as a learner if I made mistakes, she gave me comments like:-
1.
Your mistakes are frustrating me.
2. I don't enjoy the lesson with you.
3. Even if you pass the driving test my concern is you gonna be threat to the other drivers on the road.
4. You should go for automatic car maybe its works good for you.
5.
Brake padel on Instructor side is too high so I cannot keep my foot all the time on the brake for cover.
6. The car I got is too powerful for learner.
These are all the comments I heard from her everyday that really put me down to drive.
My concern is if all the Instructor starts thinking like her I don't think there will be new drivers on the road.
Because every teacher was once a student. You learn from mistakes but saying that if you pass the driving test on manual car you will be threat to the other drivers is totally unacceptable.
In my last two lessons with her which was Friday 6th May and 7th May, I came home crying because she put me down to drive, and now I think I can never drive again.

Don't waste your money
Been with bill plant driving school since May last year, instructor very inconsistent with availability and was late every single lesson sometimes up to half a hour, getting a text 15 minutes into your lesson to notify you that they will be late is unacceptable. Cancellation of lessons on short notice, using mobile phone while pupil driving and using pupils time and money to pull over and make personal calls.
No progression in learning just same routes every lesson even after asking for specific things to get closer to getting a test date booked. Taking hard earned cash absolutely disgraceful would not recommend a fly to use this instructor I have made a official complaint to Bill plant what good that will do but I'd rethink bill plant in the future for anyone in the Liverpool area

I have been in touch with the BP driving school for some weeks now and until today I was relatively happy with the help and support. My sister wanted to book some lessons for my daughter who is turning 30 this month .She lives in Ireland and as I was the middle man there were lots of phone calls back and forth from and to overseas and many to BP.
As she intended to part with a lot of money she understandably had a lot of queries . I initially spoke with Jack who was very helpful ,patient and with good customer care attributes. On my next call I spoke with Zoe I asked her about the package deals B P had to offer. I was told I could have a bundle of 10 or 20 but no 15s,I relayed this back to my sister.
She would have liked the option of 15 but decided to go ahead with the 20. I phoned today to purchase a voucher for £560 my sister having transferred this amount into my bank account. This time I spoke with Devan who told me that at the moment I could only have a voucher for 10 lessons. I asked her why was this, Zoe never said this when we discussed 20 a few days ago
She went to say maybe other drivers did 20 so why didnt I get that driver.
I could feel her impatience and I am pretty sure there was a lot of eye rolling
I then asked could I have 2 vouchers again she said not at the moment
What does this mean do you offer 20 or not. In the middle of our conversation she disconnected the call
I immediately rang back ,this time I was no 5 in the queue,finally I got through and it Devan again. I asked her if she had put the phone down on me and she immediately disconnected the call.
Had it been a mistake then I would have fully expected a call back,I just could not believe it and I hope she will be severely reprimanded The birthday is now close no vouchers to put in a card and a very angry and disappointed aunt who happy to give the Bill Plant driving school £560 I myself am beyond upset at the audacity of that girl,she should really be behind the scenes and not put on the front line Customer support is everything and phone interactions carry a lot of clout. She needs to up her knowledge about her place of work and when she cant answer a clients question get someone who can .
